Eight downtown Wake Forest restaurants and bars are partnering to serve up Strawberry & Basil Ale and Ice Cream in support of Tri-Area Food Ministry. This collection of downtown destinations announced the Six One Five Collabeeration, a well-crafted partnership designed to give back to the Wake Forest community that has supported it and other local restaurants and bars during the pandemic. The group worked with Norse Brewing Company’s brew master Brad Wynn to create a special edition brew that’s sure to please any beer drinker’s palate this summer – Strawberry & Basil Ale. For non-beer drinkers, Lumpy’s Ice Cream dipped in with its own special edition Strawberry & Basil Ice Cream as part of the Collabeeration’s summer give back program.

The Strawberry & Basil Ale and Ice Cream is available and on tap starting Friday, May 21, at each of the participating company’s locations in downtown Wake Forest. These include:

“Through a really difficult and challenging time for everyone, the Wake Forest community has really helped support downtown Wake Forest’s restaurants and bars through take out, socially distanced dinner and entertaining, and other activities. We wanted to give back to say thanks,” said Chris Jorgensen, Norse Brewing Company’s co-founder. “We can’t wait for the community to taste what we’ve been up to and look forward to serving our community by serving up pints of the Strawberry & Basil Ale and ice cream this summer.”

The Wake Forest Business and Industry Partnership (WFBIP) is proud to support downtown entrepreneurs and business owners in their effort to give back.
