Pioneering Solutions in RF Engineering in Wake Forest

RF2ANTENNA, a leading Antenna, RF Engineering, and Design Services company firmly established in the Wake Forest community is driven by a commitment to solving complex RF (radio frequency) challenges for wireless product developers. Founded by Mete Ozkar, PhD EE in 2010, the company thrives within the supportive ecosystem of Wake Forest’s Wireless Research Center (WRC), offering innovative solutions that have propelled it to international recognition.

After a decade of seeking greater fulfillment in his career, Dr. Ozkar took the bold step of founding his own consulting business alongside a colleague. RF2ANTENNA’s remarkable growth can be attributed to several factors. "Determination, hard work, discipline, and the location of the company offices," he says. The strategic positioning within the WRC has been instrumental. "WRC has contributed in two ways to the company’s growth and development," he noted. "Firstly, WRC provided offices and equipment at very reasonable rates. Secondly, WRC has provided us business and collaboration opportunities ever since the company started."

The company’s expertise shines through in its ability to solve critical RF problems that often impede product launches. Dr. Ozkar recounted a challenging project: "Our clients usually come to us because they fail tests that prevent them from launching products. One particular client had a two-week window for the launch, and they came to us for a solution to their radiated problem. We not only solved their problem but also helped them overcome other small obstacles and launch the product in time."

RF2ANTENNA holds an unwavering commitment in its work to ethics and honesty. "We take pride in performing the correct and accurate measurements/simulations no matter how simple," Dr. Ozkar says. The company’s use of state-of-the-art tools for measurements and simulations, coupled with a philosophy of overdelivering, has earned them consistent praise from clients.

In the rapidly evolving fields of 5G and IoT, RF2ANTENNA stays ahead by continuously investing in advanced equipment and technology, such as their recent addition of a mmWave chamber capable of measuring up to 110 GHz. This commitment to cutting-edge tools, combined with their collaboration with the WRC, has significantly enhanced their research and development capabilities. "WRC has provided us easy access to the equipment that we use for design and development on our projects. This allows us to complete our projects in a timely manner," Dr. Ozkar says.

The most rewarding achievements for RF2ANTENNA span both engineering and financial milestones. From designing devices for healthcare, military, security and monitoring devices used by millions globally to securing ongoing projects with global giants, the company has made a significant impact. Additionally, the Wake Forest community has played a pivotal role in their journey. "We were very well received by the Wake Forest community in general. Our customers and visitors always comment on how accommodating the town is," highlights Dr. Ozkar.

Looking ahead, Dr. Ozkar envisions RF2ANTENNA growing to provide comprehensive, turnkey solutions for diverse wireless products. This means the company aims to handle every aspect of product development, from initial design and testing to final implementation and support. With a strong foundation and a clear vision, RF2ANTENNA is poised for continued success and innovation in the RF engineering landscape.

As RF2ANTENNA continues to thrive in Wake Forest, its story serves as an inspiring testament to the power of determination, collaboration, and community support in achieving entrepreneurial success. "RF2ANTENNA exemplifies the innovative spirit and commitment to excellence that we strive to foster in our community," said Jason Cannon, President of Wake Forest Business and Industry Partnership (WFBIP). "Their success is a product of the collaborative ecosystem we have built here in Wake Forest, and we are proud to support their continued growth and achievements."
